Publishing & Revisions

You'll need to publish a widget before you can use it on your site. Publishing a widget prevents any further changes from being made by locking the current widget revision. Only published revisions are available for use in segments.
When you edit or publish a widget in the Creative Editor, you are actually operating on a particular revision of that widget. Revisions capture the history of the published changes you have made over time.
Revisions:
Track published changes for a widget.
Prevent accidental changes affecting a live widget.
Allow reverting back to a previously published state.
Allow a new widget to be created (cloned) starting from a specific revision.
A draft revision is the only revision that can be edited.
Publishing a draft revision locks it from any further changes.
The published revision is the current active revision that will be displayed on a website when the widget is used.
There can be only one published revision per widget.
Only widgets with a published revision will be assignable to your campaigns.
Locked revisions cannot be edited
Duplicates the revision and makes it the active draft. Any previous draft revision will be locked. This new draft can then be edited and published again.
Creates a new widget from the selected revision. This is useful when you want to base a new widget of an existing one without having to manually recreate it.
