PII

Personally Identifiable Information

Introduction

PII is personally identifiable information that you bring into Fanplayr 360, that you want to treat specially for security reasons. This can include data that can be used to identify an individual such as names, email addresses or phone numbers, or data that should not be stored such as Social Security or Tax Filing Numbers.

In Fanplayr 360 PII attributes with Low or Medium are restricted to users who have access to PII, and records are stored when a user accesses this information.

Profile identifiers can not be marked as PII, although user PII access is required to view them.

Setting PII

In the Data Dictionary you can set the PII level for any attribute tracked by Fanplayr 360.

PII Levels

  • None: Attribute is not PII.

This is the default settings, and is OK to use for most data.

  • Low: Attribute values are restricted from viewing for an individual user but are available as suggestions in filters. When adding filters in Insights, Audiences, Automations or Exports this data will be shown as suggestions.

When viewing a profile a user with PII access may request to view PII data at this level. Users without PII access cannot add PII fields to Exports.

  • Medium: Attributes values are restricted from viewing for an individual user and are not available as suggestions in filters. When viewing a profile a user with PII access may request to view PII data at this level. Users without PII access cannot add PII fields to Exports.

  • High: Attribute values are one-way hashed to ensure raw values are never stored. Users cannot choose these attributes as filters or outputs in Exports or Destinations. Values will always remain hashed when shown These values are never available to view in a filters, or in a Profile, and will never be exported or sent to Automations.

You are not able to downgrade the PII level of an attribute once set.

PII Restrictions

Using attributes as filters (Insights, Audiences, Automations, Exports):

  • Low - Can choose as a filter as see value suggestions

  • Medium - Can choose as filter, but no suggestions

  • High - Disabled

Using attributes as outputs (Automations via Destination override, Destination definition, Exports):

  • Low - Only if user has PII access

  • Medium - Only if user has PII access

  • High - Disabled

Customer Profiles and Insights visualisations and tables:

  • Low - Show as ** if no PII access

  • Medium - Show as ** if no PII access

  • High - Always show as **. In Insights, allow aggregating on hash value e.g. distinct counts.

Exports

A user who does not have PII access cannot Download, Run or Create/Update an export definition which references any PII output attributes.
