Product Lists

Product lists are subsets of a product catalog. The main components of product lists are the rules. These rules are used together to filter the whole product catalog into more manageable groups of products. The filtered groups of products are what Fanplayr calls product lists. Lists are used primarily in the generation of Product Displays.
A list of all defined product lists for your account is available in the Merchandising section of the portal. If this section is not available to you, please contact your customer success manager. There can only be 10 active non-default product lists at any one time.
The list contains eight key pieces of information:
ID — The id of the product list. This is generated automatically when the list is created.
Name — The name of the product list. This is defined when creating the product list.
Catalog — The product catalog that the list uses as a source of all products.
Status — The status of the list (Active or Inactive)
Evaluated— Indicates whether the list needs to be evaluated based on any changes to the underlying rules. (Complete, Ready, or Evaluating)
Last Evaluated — The date in which the the rules in the list were last evaluated on the given catalog to generate the product list.
Rules — The number of rules set on the list.
Products — The number of products in the list. This value is only visible and applicable if the evaluation status is "complete".
Every active product catalog associated with an account will have a default product list. This product list is created and managed automatically and therefore cannot be edited like other product lists. The default list has no rules and contains an entire product catalog. Product displays can reference this default product list to essentially bypass the product filtering feature that product lists offer. Currently, all AI recommendations models must reference a default product list.
Because the product list evaluation process is time-consuming, product lists are not automatically evaluated whenever rules are added, changed, or removed. The user must manually trigger the list evaluation process by clicking the "Evaluate" button for each list on the table. The button is only available to active product lists. Lists do not have to be "Dirty" for the evaluate button to be available, but re-evaluating non-dirty lists will only have an effect on the products in the resulting list if the underlying catalog has changed in some way. Clicking the button will start the evaluation process and change the list's evaluation status to be "Evaluating". The process will likely take a few minutes and will run in the background. Feel free to navigate to other parts of the portal while the evaluation runs. During the evaluation, Fanplayr interprets all rules on the list and determines which products in the selected catalog match the defined rules.
Once the process is complete, the navigation bar at the top of the screen will be updated with a notification saying that the evaluation is complete. Upon navigating back to the product lists page, you will be able to click the "View Products" button next to each list. This will take you to another page where you can view each product.
