Data Extension

You need five basic pieces of information from your Marketing Cloud account to integrate into Fanplayr:

  • A Client ID

  • A Client Secret

  • The Stack through which you access Marketing Cloud

  • Data Extension Name

  • Mapping of your data extension fields

You will need to create a Package and add an API Integration Component to get these details.

Setting up API Access

  • Log into your Marketing Cloud Account.

  • Go to Administration / Installed Packages.

  • Click New.

  • Give the package a name and description.

  • Click Save.

  • Click the Add Component button.

  • Choose API Integration. Click Next.

As you are pushing data to a Data Extension please choose "Read" and "Write" under Data Extensions

  • Click Save.

You will now see your Client ID and Client Secret below.

The Stack

You will see the Stack you are using in the URL used to access Marketing Cloud. For example, in the below it is "s7".

Getting a Data Extension Name

  • Log into your Marketing Cloud Account

  • Go to Audience Builder / Contact Builder.

  • Go to Data Extensions.

You will see a list of Data Extensions with their names. The name listed here is what you need to supply to Fanplayr.

Mapping for Data Extension

You need to provide a mapping for which fields from Fanplayr you want to add to which fields in Marketing Cloud. Some fields you will see marked as Required, which means you have to supply a mapping to Fanplayr for all of these attributes or there will be errors when trying to add content.

To access a list of Attributes:

  • Log into your Marketing Cloud Account

  • Go to Audience Builder / Contact Builder.

  • Go to Data Extensions.

  • Click on the name of the Data Extension you want to view.

Here you will see a list of all the Attributes set for your Data Extension. We need only the Name of the Attributes.

Extra Fanplayr Data

If you set specific attribute names we will automatically send the data through for Fanplayr campaign information. They are as follows:

  • Fanplayr-Campaign-Name: A Text value with a length of 100.

  • Fanplayr-Campaign-Key: A Text value with a length of 32.

You will need to use the name of attributes as the tag name in Form Controls () in the Creative Editor.
